Praaaaahhhhaaaa (or Prague)

May 31st, 2010 Monday

Another day, another city. We have been flying through these countries! Today we actually got to go see some of Prague. We took the suggestion to go on a free walking tour that a really hot guy told us about at our hostel. The Czech Republic is filled with some pretty good looking eye candy as a little fyi! ;) We learned our lesson from Paris and took our backpacks to the train station first and left them in a locker. Then we met up for the "free" tour. It is technically free but they don't earn money from the company and work purely off of tips. This is kinda great though becuase they work hard to entertain you and give you a good history lesson about the city. Our tour guide, Huw (who was also very easy on the eyes) was awesome! He was all entergetic and made us laugh with his horribly great puns like the Czechs bounced. Lol, oh so awful. But, yeah, I learned a lot about the history of the Czech Republic and found it pretty fascinating. WE went and saw a lot of great stuff including the astronomical clock, which Huw did a lovely renactment for us because we didnt get to see it go off. He walked around and said "Apostle" ..... "Another Apostle"... lol. Apparently the 12 Apostles come out and walk around the clock.

We also saw the Jewish Quarter and other important sites around town. Once the tour was done, we made our way across Charles Bridge where we rubbed some type of statue that is supposed to give us good luck. Then we tried to find the cattle, walked up a huge hill and ran out of time so we had to head back without seeing the castle. :( Thankfully, though, we made it to the train station and got our stuff to leave. Ahhhh... more train adventures were to be had! We got on the train fine but then a man came around to tell us something about changing trains. Wait... What?? His accent was too thick, we didnt understand much of what he was saying. So i went to the people in the next appartment. Apparently, we had to change to a bus and then back to a train. Why? Im not really sure! But we finally made it to our destination of Munich pretty much right on time. I was impressed. Sadly it was raining, but luckily our hostel is very close. Only about 2 blocks away. Made it in safe and soun and then passed out!
