Rome!

Saturday April 1, 2006

Well I made it safely to Rome! Yay! But today’s story starts in Leicester, England. I had to wake up fairly early, but they actually served breakfast in the dinning hall. So that was nice. After breakfast I continued to pack and attempt to move all my stuff out. It took longer than I thought, but I got it out eventually. I moved one bag into storage and the rest I took with me. Of course this was at 11 in the morning and the bus to the airport didn’t leave until 4, but luckily one girl had got another room for the weekend in the dorms and she let us dump our stuff in there with her till then. Problem was though that they wouldn’t let us in till 1. So we just kinda hung out in the lobby of Gilbert Murray until one. After that I went to the city center with 2 other people and got lunch- Burger King OOoooo! We headed back after lunch though cause it was getting closer to 4. Mainly it was a pretty calm morning with a very strange feel to it. Bunch of waiting around and getting nervous together about our 5 weeks. Four rolled around and we headed to the nearest airport- East Midlands. We all checked in and then stopped for dinner. Oh and guess what place? Burger King! Ok eww. I was fine the first time cause I got a chicken sandwich (oh wait- a “chicken royale”) but that was enough of burger king for at least another year. Or for Amy, another lifetime! ; ) Hehehe. Time rolled around for our flight. It was a medium size company I guess you could say. I mean its not some tiny lil plane, but no United sized plane either. We also had to go outside and climb steps to get into the plane! Hehehe! Very cool! Two and a half hours later we arrived in Rome. Whoo hooo. I can’t believe I am actually here. Of course its night out and I can’t really see anything, but it looks quite scary. Like total get yourself killed ghetto… er, I’m sure its just fine mom. : ) I’m probably safe… probably. Haven’t heard any word about internet access so I’m assuming there is none. So it could be a week before you guys actually get to read this. Eh, its short anyways. I thought about making it longer cause today was really interesting and very emotionally stressful. But really- its like 2 am in Rome and I have an early day tomorrow. I will say this though- the hotel is… well its strange. Its like on the 3rd floor of some building. We also drove round and round trying to find it! And, rooms were running short so I am in a room with another girl and… a guy! *GASP* LOL! Naw, I don’t mind and I don’t think it’s a big deal. Actually they originally put me in another room, but I decided I just needed to get out of there! Any way possible! Well, love you all!
