That Just Grates My Cheese
Today started off pretty good. I got up in time to eat hot breakfast and get to the library in time to return my overnight book. When I got there, I also found some more resources for my paper so I was quite happy with that. Then I even set out a clear outline for my paper and organized all my information. Ahhhh- the process truly begins! Since I was on campus early I decided to do a few things I needed to get done then go back and make lunch for myself. First stop was the history office. I picked up a coversheet that I have to fill out and hand in with my paper on Monday. They have really strange rules about handing in papers here. I must put my student number on the essay and I have to hand in two copies of it along with the coversheet I have to fill out. I also have to put in a tall box with, like in a mail box. At noon- not a second later! : P Wow- they really really care about having your papers graded fair and impartially! Sheesh! Course I guess that makes things harder on me. I mean, if I say something that’s completely “American” I’m gonna confuse the heck out of my teacher… which couldn’t be good. Anyhoo, after that I went to the ATM to get the money to pay the ISA office for my Ireland trip. “Did ya know” that they don’t call them ATMs here? They are called “cash points”. Honestly, all the little things here are called different things! So after I waited in line behind like 15 people (no joke) I got up to the cash point and hit 200 pounds. The trip is 164 so I figured I’d go over- hey there is that 5 dollar charge I get every time I use a cash point over here. So what would you know- the thing starts beeping at me. “Insufficent funds”… this is where you picture my mouth dropping! So I tried again for 150… “insufficient funds”. This is where I really started to panic. So third times a charm, right? I tried for 100 pounds. Finally it worked. Oh course that sucks, cause it wasn’t enough to pay the ISA office for my trip. So I hope its ok that I pay them on Monday. On my way back to my dorm, I realized that it wasn’t so much of insufficient funds, as it was- I have a 200 dollar a day limit. Darn! So Monday I plan on calling Wells Fargo and asking them to up my limit. When I got back, I was pretty irked by that stupid fiasco so I was looking forward to my nice ham and cheese sandwich I was going to make. That was until I got to the refrigerator and saw that someone stole my whole block of cheese!! *Eyes narrow!!!* Um, I think I saw red. I am so sick of people stealing my stuff. I mean sure a slice of cheese- go ahead, but I just bought that block of cheese people! And that stuff ain’t cheap here. Plus it is only the latest thing people have taken. They also ate all the jam I bought and they have taken a yogurt, and they also use the mayo I have in there. Plus, the other day I went to use my shampoo and noticed it seemed heavier than usual. Well, go figure, someone used it and thought they would hide it by filling the rest of the bottle up with water. (Everyone leaves their shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms here) So I’m just a bit fed up with all of this. I mean, doesn’t anyone have common decency here?! Apparently not. So i guess I have decided that i won't be buying anything that needs to be refrigerated anymore. Grrr! I also moved my shampoo back into my room. Blah! The rest of the day, I’ve spent on my paper. Hey, I finally have a start! Go me! Well, its late and I have to wake up early to work on that darn thing. Oh poo! Night all!
