Well Well
Ok so apparently I am a stupid American, yeah? Sorry! Actually I did know about the VAT, but I forgot to write about it for some reason. Yes I do realize that it is already added into the final cost, and I have no idea why I said they had “no” sales tax. Pfft! Whatever! Anyhoo…moving on to today! Well the weekends are nice because they don’t serve breakfast, they serve brunch. And they do that from 12-1, which means I got to sleep in. Very yay! Also brunch was quite good. I got some fresh fruit and a croissant. Yum! Then afterwards I headed out with two other girls to the city centre where I got to see way more of it than I did the first time I went. It was amazing. So much shopping to be done! Hehehe. Ok- all I bought was a scarf though. Yeah I know, I’m a big spender…especially because it was 70 percent off. : ) Well I like me a good bargain what can I say? Anyways, the place was packed today. I mean really packed! I have never seen so many people!!! It was hard just to walk around. After we did a little shopping, we went to an outdoor market that was also in the city centre. It had lots of fruit and things to buy. It was an amazing atmosphere and I just loved it. Everywhere around you would hear people shouting- 80p for a bowl, 80p!! or 1 pound or however much. So I got me some yummy cherries for 80p. Afterwards we headed back so we could catch dinner. They only give you a thirty minute time frame to get there too! So dinner was ok. Not the best, but they did have ice cream for dessert! YUM! Still sticking to the water to drink, of course. : ) After dinner a big group of us Americans went to a house party, so that was pretty fun. I got to meet a lot of older British people. I say older because everyone around here is like 18 because it is their first year at University. Anyways, I had a lot of fun. They were all actually pretty nice to us even though we are *gasp* Americans!! Hehehe. So yeah, that was my day. It was actually quite long and a bit jam packed. Tomorrow’s goal? Clean my room (I can’t believe I have already trashed it) and do some reading (hopefully!). I trust you all are doing well. Much Love! Oh and for today’s did ya know (ok stole that from high school- amy you know what I’m talking about!)- but yes…did you know that the streets here do not have shoulders? And they sometimes park halfway on the sidewalk (they call it pavement) and half on the road? It is the strangest thing you ever did see! : ) Ok that’s it! Love you all!

Glad to hear you had a good time seeing the city center, shopping etc. You know, the whole parking thing makes sense now. Well, not over there, but with my Neighbor from England. For the first month he lived her he would park his Jetta that way, half on the "pavement" and half on the street. With out a curb that makes sense. With one, it looks a little weird. Vary cool "Did ya know"s, keep em comming.
Sounds like you had a great time. :-) Take Care
So your room is already trashed? Hmmm...that used to take both of us. Not that we completely trashed the room. I think it was clean like once every two weeks. That's pretty good!
I love reading about England. It makes me absolutely and intolerably jealous, but that's what happens isn't it?
Good luck with the room!
One question - what's a 'shoulder'? :p
The beauty of American roads? They are wider with extra sides called shoulders. :P
